Help the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus Win $100,000!

July 8 - 16, 2006, the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus toured the Southern US, performing in Nashville (at the Ryman Auditorium, historic home of the Grand Ole Opry), Birmingham, Jackson, Mobile and New Orleans. All performances were offered in collaboration with local GLBT and related organizations and ticket proceeds were shared with the host groups.

A videographer accompanied the Chorus throughout the tour. Hundreds of hours of film were shot, including interviews with chorus members, key participants from partner organizations and local personalities. In part, this was an effort to document the trip for historical purposes; but the desire to capture this footage was also fueled by the awareness that Current TV and the Third Millennium Foundation were sponsoring a Tolerance video competition. The winning video will receive $100,000 to create an hour-long documentary, which will then be broadcast on Current TV. Other winners will receive lesser dollar amounts but will also be broadcast on Current TV. Winners are selected based on number of votes received.

Because the clip is VERY hard to find, be sure to use the above link to help you connect. Voting continues until November 11th, so please remind everyone to keep marking those ballots. The overall video rating depends not only on the number of votes cast, but also how current these votes are. The video score goes up when a registered user gives the video a greenlight; it can also go down as greenlights get older. This makes it necessary to enlist the help of as many voters as possible right up to the November 11th deadline. Each registered e-mail address and password can only cast one greenlight.
