Rainbow Families and TCGMC Partner for the Holidays

In the spirit of the Holiday Season we are asking for your help in assisting Rainbow Families in providing gifts for GLBT teenagers in YouthLink's Host Homes program. This is a housing program for GLBT youth where young people live in the homes of affirming hosts. Bring a gift with you to one of the Bells: A Tintinnabulation of Song concerts, (or drop-off at our offices) and we will make sure that these gifts are received. A gift list is below.

Rainbow Families / YouthLink Gift List

YouthLink gives a bag to each youth receiving services. Each bag is filled with basic items and we try to make them similar so that gifts are equally distributed.

We expect to give out about 360 gift bags this year. Cash donations help us purchase items to reach the 360 total.

Each gift bag contains:

Wool socks
Underwear (briefs, boxers, panties, T-shirts, etc)
A sweatshirt
Winter hat and gloves
Personal care times (a toothbrush, paste, soap, comb/pick/brush, deodorant, etc)
A candle
An address book or planner
Carmex or blistex
A portable cd player with batteries
A watch with alarm

We have several teen parents and gifts for their infants and toddlers are also collected so that they may give a gift to their child.

Baby Gift Ideas:

Blankets and quilts
Rattles, chew toys, pacifiers, stuffed animal toys
Baby and toddler books
A disposable camera (for taking pictures of child)
