Minneapolis, MN - Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus and OutFront Minnesota will partner in a benefit performance of the Chorus' acclaimed new work, Metamorphosis , in an event billed Metamorphosis Encore scheduled for Thursday, October 28 th at 8 pm at the State Theatre in Minneapolis.

"Part of the mission of the Chorus is to act as an agent for social change," said Joann Usher , Executive Director of the Chorus. "To that end, we felt that we could help our community by supporting OutFront Minnesota and the good work they do for all of us by raising our voices, if you will. The theme of this piece ( Metamorphosis ) is especially important and timely. This is a story of and about the men of the Chorus and their struggles with coming out in a world filled with ignorance, hatred, and discrimination."

"OutFront Minnesota and the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus in many ways share a common objective - to build a safe community with equal rights for all people without regard to sexual orientation. For this reason, we are perfect partners for this project," said Ann DeGroot, Executive Director of OutFront Minnesota . "We have much work ahead of us, and having community partners like the Chorus is just one way that we are able to continue many of the programs that support the GLBT community of the Twin Cities," she added.

Joining the Chorus on stage for this event will be the James Sewell Ballet and a live orchestra. "After our concert this last spring, when we premiered this new work, we received such overwhelming response from people asking to see it again," said Dr. Stan Hill , Artistic Director of the Chorus. "So, we contacted James (Sewell) and told him about our idea to help support the work of OutFront Minnesota . It didn't take any convincing; he was on board with us immediately!"

The benefit will include all eleven movements of Metamorphosis plus the encore (Womb, Lullaby, Dialogue, Picket Fences, In My Dreams, Kicked in the Gut, It May Be, Grace, Tidy Endings, If I Could Choose, I Can Fly, Legacy).

Tickets for this benefit event are $250 (includes pre-performance dinner), $150, $100, $75 or $50.
