Minneapolis, MN -The Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus will perform an all-new outreach concert at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the church. This is a free concert, although donations are appreciated.

The Chorus will perform selections from their upcoming holiday concert: Snow! A Winter Wonderland of Song. Although the theme, SNOW, may be all too familiar with Minnesotans, this all-new holiday concert will take us on a nostalgic journey with many of your favorite holiday selections like White Christmas and Winter Wonderland and The Christmas Waltz.

There will also be some new breathtakingly beautiful selections like The Snow, by Edward Elgar and the Chorus' premiere performance of two movements from Morten Lauridsen's Mid-Winter Songs - challenging music that takes the Chorus to new heights of choral technique. Both are incredible pieces with profound meaning. Other selections include Pietro Yon's breathtaking Gesu Bambino and a dramatically moving piece, Kevin Robinson's Not In Our Town . This piece is fast becoming the Chorus' favorite as it tells of hate and bigotry and how a community rises to self-affirmation and coalesces into a barrier to discrimination.

This will be the Chorus' second appearance at Good Samaritan and is in keeping with Good Samaritan's goal of welcoming and affirming all people, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race or socioeconomic background. GSUMC has made a life-long commitment to bring about reconciliation between people of diverse views and backgrounds and strives to build bridges of understanding between people through ongoing dialogue, experiences and education.

Good Samaritan United Methodist Church is located at 5730 Grove Street , just one block off Tracy Avenue in Edina . For further information, please call 952.929.0049 or visit their website at www.good.org .
