Minneapolis, MN - The Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus will roll back the hands of time to the era of flower children, tie-dye shirts, Stonewall riots and peace protests when they present their all new spring concert KGAY-FM: Sounds of the '60s on April 1 - 3 at Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis.

This concert will feature music from this era that has become legendary. Hits like The Twist, Duke of Earl, Teen Angel, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Leader of the Pack, Leaving On a Jet Plane, Monday,Monday , and The Sound of Silence will be included in this exciting concert.

"This exhilarating concert will cover just about all the genres of music out there. We will have folk, rock, Motown, dance, gospel - you name it, it will probably be in this show," said Dr. Stan Hill, artistic director for the Chorus. "This music is timeless and it is no coincidence that it strikes a nostalgic chord in our collective national memory. This was an emotional and important time in American history," Hill added.

And since TV was the big craze, the Chorus will have some fun with the TV tunes that were famous back then: Gilligan's Island , Mr. Ed, Daniel Boone, The Patty Duke Show, The Andy Griffith Show and plenty of jingles from our favorite commercials.

Backing-up the usual fun and heartfelt sincerity that is associated with a Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus concert, this concert will include a moving video retrospective of this bygone era and will close with one of the most moving climaxes of any concert in the history of the Chorus with We Shall Overcome - words that have as much meaning today as they did in the 1960s.

KGAY-FM: Sounds of the '60s will be held at Ted Mann Concert Hall located on the west bank of the University of Minnesota . Tickets for this concert are priced at $31, $25, & $19 for adults (children 12 and under are 50% off).
